Welcome to my site. I largely maintain this site to catalogue server parts I come across at work. It comes in handy when I am building servers and need to find a part or figure out what a part is/does. Most of the time when you punch in a part number you’ll get a stock picture and some hazy/rudimentary description of what it is. I wanted to add more context so I try to add a bit more info beyond the generic descriptions.
I plan on making a search tool to locate parts, and beyond that, to find what parts are compatible with what servers. For instance, let’s say you want to find all risers compatible with the R740xd chassis. The search tool will allow you to do that. It will become more useful as time goes on and as more parts are added to the database.
Beyond server hardware I will also post about networking and Linux from time to time. I also have book called Server Hardware and Troubleshooting. It’s a guide to servers with emphasis on the hardware side of things.
